3rd ASEAN BCG Knowledge Sharing Series Session 3: Accelerating Clean Energy Transition for a Greener ASEAN on 16 September 2022
The Royal Thai Embassy would like to inform that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand will host the 3rd ASEAN BCG Knowledge Sharing Series Session 3: Accelerating Clean Energy Transition for a Greener ASEAN on 16 September 2022 at 14.00 – 16.00 hrs. (GMT + 7) via Webex.
The webinar will include a briefing by the representative from the ASEAN Centre for Energy on the overview, challenges, and opportunities in developing renewable energy in ASEAN, as well as a briefing on the policies and best practices of the European Union and Norway on the promotion of the transition to clean energy, with a view to enhancing the capacity of relevant agencies of ASEAN and to further promote cooperation on clean energy between ASEAN and external partners.

On 18 August 2022, His Excellency Mr. Tull Traisorat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines presided over the Thai Select Awarding Ceremony for Greyhound Café Philippines at the SM Aura in Manila.
In congratulating Greyhound Café Philippines on receiving the Thai Select Classic Certification which guarantee the authentic Thai taste of Thai food products and Thai restaurants, Ambassador Traisorat noted that the success of the Greyhound Café Philippines is testament to the close economic cooperation between Thailand and the Philippines.
Recognizing that the Thai franchise in Manila is composed of highly trained Thai and Filipino chefs and staff, Ambassador Traisorat commended the business-to-business collaboration between Thailand’s Greyhound Café, the Philippines’ Viva Group and SM Aura for their contribution towards job creation, such collaboration between the Thai and Filipino businesses also attracts more customers to the SM Aura mall, contributing to the success of property developers and further property development.
Further, Ambassador Traisorat was pleased to learn that the dishes offered by the restaurant would provide people with the opportunity to experience authentic Thai cuisine, which has great health benefits. Such experience will also allow Thais and Filipinos to connect through the enjoyment and appreciation of Thai food, which will foster cultural exchanges, as well as people-to-people connectivity.
With a view to marking in 2024 the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Philippines, Ambassador Traisorat reiterated the objective of taking the Thailand-Philippines relations to the next level, including through business-to-business collaboration, to ensure economic prosperity and an even closer friendship between the Thai and Filipino peoples.
On Wednesday 3 August 2022, His Excellency Mr. Tull Traisorat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines presided over the
Opening Ceremony of Thailand’s ‘Think Rice, Think Thailand’ Booth at the World Food Expo 2022 at the SMX Convention Centre in Manila.
Noting the upward trajectory of the rice trade between the countries, whereby the Philippines has imported USD 23.97 million worth of rice from Thailand between January and March this year, His Excellency the Ambassador welcomed the opportunities the event will provide to consumers and businesses to establish networks and partnerships,
as well as explore potential trade opportunities at the event.
Moreover, His Excellency the Ambassador was pleased to note that participants of the WOFEX 2022 could enjoy and experience Thai culinary through cooking demonstrations by chefs from Thai Select restaurants in Manila, an activity which will foster people-to-people connectivity and promote tourism between Thailand and the Philippines.
Further, in outlining the importance both Thailand and the Philippines attach to the promotion of food security, His Excellency the Ambassador underlined that Thailand stands ready to work closely with the Philippines in strengthening the agricultural production and supply chain, particularly through rice exports from Thailand to the Philippines.
His Excellency the Ambassador reiterated that Thailand does not have any restriction on rice exports, and is ready to contribute to the Philippines’ priority on food security, and to export rice at the level to meet the demands of the Philippines’ rice importers and consumers.
With a view to marking the 75th anniversary in 2024 of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Philippines, His Excellency the Ambassador emphasized that it is an opportune time for Thailand and the Philippines to enhance cooperation in numerous areas, particularly those that ensure that the safety and
well-beings of Thais and Filipinos are sustainable, and invited all stakeholders to take the rice trade between Thailand and the Philippines to a higher level.
