On 13 November 2013, Mr. Sahust Pratuknukul, President of the Electricity Generating Public Company Limited donated 300,000 baht to the victims of typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) through the special television program “Thai Support to help the Philippines” organized by the Royal Thai Government, broadcasted on the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT).
On 14 November 2013, Quezon Power (Philippines) Limited Co. (QPL), the Coal-Fired Power Plant in Quezon province donated 7,000 USD to Mr. Jun Salipsip, the Foundation’s Executive Director of AmCham Foundation and
the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.
On 16 November 2013, Mr. Frank Thiel, QPL Managing Director, provided 1,400 bags of assorted food items to assist victims of typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). The QPL employees also raised 100,000 pesos to purchase necessary items to assist the victims of the typhoon.
On 22 May 2014, Quezon Power (Philippines) Limited Co (QPL), the Coal-Fired Power Plant under the management of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Foundation donated thirty two (32) boats for fishermen who were affected by Typhoon Yolanda at the shoreline of Barangay Brigida, Municipality of Tolosa in Leyte. The boats will be used to travel between Manila and Tacloban. All boats produced in Manila were subsidized by various companies in the Philippines including QPL.
The donation ceremony was presented by Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery Secretary Hon. Panfilo Lacson, Hon. Vice Governor Carlos Loreto, Municipality of Palo Mayor Remedios L. Petilla, Municipality of Tanauan Mayor Pelagio R. Tecson, Municipality of Tolosa Mayor Erwin C. Ocana together with American Chamber of Commerce and sponsors representatives led by its President Rhicke Jennings, Executive Director Ebb Hinchliffe, Foundation Executive Director Jun Salipsip and QPL's Assistant Managing Director Pantipa Moolasart.
H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai spoke during the Forum on Aquaculture session by Charoen Pokphand (CP) Foods Philippines. The Forum was hosted by the Management Association of the Philippines on 7 March 2013 at the Metropolitan Club. Also in the picture are Mr. Ramon Ilusorio, Honorary Consul of Finland (seated) and Mr. Arnnop Jeanprasert, Senior Vice President for Agro-Industry of CP Philippines.
Dr. Pinij Kungvankij, Vice Chairman of Charoen Pokphand operations in the Philippines presented his presentation of the CPF’s profile and the Aquaculture business in the Philippines. The forum was attended by 50 prominent Philippine businessmen.
On 4 December 2013, H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, presented a donation of 200,000.00 US dollars from the Royal Thai Government to H.E. Albert F. del Rosario, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, for the Typhoon Yolanda relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas.
On 25 October 2016, His Excellency Thanatip Upatising welcomed H.E. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, 14th President of the Republic of the Philippines to pay respect and sign the Book of Condolence in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of the Kingdom of Thailand at the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila.
