เมื่อวันที่ 1 สิงหาคม 2568 นางมาฆวดี สุมิตรเหมาะ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนาย Joel Anthony M. Viado ผู้บัญชาการสำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองฟิลิปปินส์ (ผบ.ตม.) เพื่อแนะนำตัวในโอกาสเข้ารับตำแหน่ง โดยมีนายรังสรรค์ ศรีมังกร อัครราชทูต นางนาฏพร นิติมนตรี อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษา และทีมผู้บริหารของสำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองฟิลิปปินส์เข้าร่วมด้วย

เอกอัครราชทูตมาฆวดีฯ ได้ขอบคุณ ผบ.ตม. ฟิลิปปินส์และทีมงานที่ได้ให้การสนับสนุนภารกิจของสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ในการให้ความช่วยเหลือและดูแลคนไทยในฟิลิปปินส์อย่างดีเสมอมา รวมทั้งขอบคุณ ผบ.ตม. ฟิลิปปินส์ที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ของสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ อย่างต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งแสดงถึงความใกล้ชิดและความเป็น “มิตรประเทศไทย” (Friends of Thailand) ที่แท้จริง ขณะที่ ผบ.ตม. ฟิลิปปินส์ ได้แสดงความยินดีต่อการรับตำแหน่งของเอกอัครราชทูตมาฆวดีฯ และแสดงความพร้อมที่จะให้ความร่วมมือที่ดีกับสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ อย่างต่อเนื่องต่อไป รวมทั้งได้กล่าวถึงความประทับใจในการเข้าร่วมการประชุม  Directors-General of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs (DGICM) ครั้งที่ 26 ที่ไทยเป็นเจ้าภาพเมื่อปี 2566

ในการนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือแลกเปลี่ยนความร่วมมือที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ และสำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองฟิลิปปินส์ จะสามารถทำร่วมกันเพื่อส่งเสริมและเกื้อหนุนความพยายามของอาเซียนในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านการควบคุมชายแดน การป้องกันภัยคุกคามด้านความมั่นคงรูปแบบใหม่ และความช่วยเหลือทางกงสุลแก่คนชาติของทั้งสองฝ่าย 

On 1 August 2025, H.E. Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines, paid an introductory call on the Honourable Attorney Joel Anthony M. Viado, Commissioner of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, on the occasion of assuming her duties. Also in attendance were Mr. Rungsant Srimangkorn, Deputy Chief of Mission; Mrs. Narttaphorn Nitimontree, Minister Counsellor and Consul, and senior officials of the Bureau of Immigration.

Ambassador Makawadee expressed appreciation to Commissioner Viado and his team for their continued support for the Thai Embassy’s mission, particularly in assisting and protecting Thai nationals in the Philippines. She also expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s active participation in the Embassy’s activities, which reflects the close ties and his genuine friendship as a true “Friends of Thailand.”

In response, Commissioner Viado congratulated Ambassador Makawadee on her appointment and reaffirmed the Bureau’s readiness to continue close cooperation with the Embassy. He also shared his experience and positive impressions when he participated in the 26th DGICM meeting hosted by Thailand in 2023.

Both sides also discussed potential areas of bilateral collaboration in support of ASEAN’s efforts to strengthen border control, address emerging security threats, and provide consular assistance to nationals of both countries.

On 11 July 2025, Her Excellency Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines along with members of Team Thailand in the Philippines visited and received a briefing at United Pulp and Paper Co., Inc (UPPC), Calumpit, Bulacan.

เนื่องในวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษาพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว วันที่ 28 กรกฎาคม 2568 สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมะนิลา ได้จัดกิจกรรมเฉลิมพระเกียรติ โดยนางมาฆวดี สุมิตรเหมาะ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมะนิลา ได้วางพานพุ่มทองและเงินเพื่อถวายราชสักการะ กล่าวถวายพระพรชัยมงคล และนำข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ถวายสัตย์ปฏิญาณเพื่อเป็นข้าราชการที่ดีและพลังของแผ่นดิน พร้อมจุดเทียนและลงนามถวายพระพรชัยมงคล ณ ทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูตฯ

On the occasion of the birthday anniversary of His Majesty His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on 28 July 2025, Her Excellency Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines along with Embassy officials paid homage to His Majesty the King, followed by oath-taking, candle lighting, and signing the book to present their best wishes at the Ambassador’s Residence.

On 14 July 2025, Hon. Roy L. Chiongbian, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Cebu, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines, at the Thai Residence. Also in attendance were Mr. Rangsant Srimangkorn, Minister; Mrs. Narttaporn Nitimontree, Minister Counsellor; and Mr. Louie James Montesa, Assistant to the Honorary Consul.

Ambassador Makawadee extended her congratulations to Honorary Consul Roy Chiongbian on the two-year extension of his tenure, recently endorsed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. She also expressed appreciation for the Honorary Consulate’s consistent support for the Embassy’s various missions. The Ambassador welcomed the opportunity to hear insights and recommendations from the Honorary Consul, given his success as a prominent Filipino businessman and his extensive network, particularly on ways to further strengthen Thailand–Philippines cooperation across various sectors.

In return, the Honorary Consul congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines and reaffirmed his full support for the Embassy’s activities. Both sides also exchanged views on economic cooperation between Thailand and the Philippines, as well as on the assistance and protection of Thai nationals living in Cebu.
