Forum on Aquaculture by CP Foods Philippines

H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai spoke during the Forum on Aquaculture session by Charoen Pokphand (CP) Foods Philippines. The Forum was hosted by the Management Association of the Philippines on 7 March 2013 at the Metropolitan Club. Also in the picture are Mr. Ramon Ilusorio, Honorary Consul of Finland (seated) and Mr. Arnnop Jeanprasert, Senior Vice President for Agro-Industry of CP Philippines.

Dr. Pinij Kungvankij, Vice Chairman of Charoen Pokphand operations in the Philippines presented his presentation of the CPF’s profile and the Aquaculture business in the Philippines. The forum was attended by 50 prominent Philippine businessmen.

Ambassador hosted dinner in honour of  the Committee on Interior Administration of Senate of Thailand

On 6 March 2013, H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, gave a briefing on politics and political system of the Philippines and hosted a dinner in honour of the Committee on Interior Administration of Senate of Thailand headed by Mr. Mongkol Srikhamhaeng, on the occasion of the latter’s study visit to the Philippines.

Thailand Festival 2013

On 8-10 February 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila in cooperation with Tourism Authority of Thailand (Singapore Office), Thai Airways International Public Co. Ltd. and the Market! Market! of Ayala Malls organized the Thailand Festival 2013 at the Market! Market! Activity Center in Fort Bonifacio, Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila

Aimed at promoting Thai food, Thai culture and the meaning of Thainess to the Filipino community, 6 Thai restaurants and 20 exhibitors were invited to showcase the authentic Thai Food and Products of Thailand such as Thai sauces, ingredients and snacks, soft drinks, stationery, coffee, glass products, handicrafts and clothing. Other highlights of event included the cultural performances from Thailand’s Department of Fine Arts, umbrella painting, Thai cooking and fruit carving demonstration, and grand prizes raffles. During the 3 day-event, it was expected that more than 5,000 Filipinos visiting the event.

Thai Professionals Exchange Programme in the Philippines

On 19 February 2013, Mr. Thanis Na Songkhla, chargé d'affaires, hosted a dinner in honour of Dr. Supaporn Tummasiri, Director of Laem Chabang Engineering Technological College, Chon Buri and Mr. Smith Boonchutima, Professor from Department of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University, on the occasion of participating in the Professional Exchange Programme organized by the Philippine Thai Cultural Organization (PTCO).

During the Study Tour, Dr. Tummasiri had the opportunity to discuss and exchange views on the IT Programme with the Programme Directors of several universities in Manila and was invited to be a guest speaker of the Philippine Society for IT Educators (PSITE) Monthly Workshop. For Professor Boonchutima, he attended the Philippine National Communications Research Conference to present his paper on Communication and Media and judge the Mass Communication student’s best papers. Then he was invited to give a lecture on Social Media and Political participation in Thailand at the Far East University. He also visited the Philippine News Agencies such as Daily Inquirer and Rappler.

Relief Donation for Government of Palau

On 12 February 2013, H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, presented the financial donation from the Royal Thai Government in the amount of 10,000 USD to Mr. Ngerikl Baules, Chargé d' Affaires of the Embassy of Palau in Manila, to support the Government of Palau’s relief and rehabilitation efforts after massive destruction in Palau by Super Typhoon Bopha last December 2012.
